Part Time Clerk to GoverningBody

Are you passionate abouteducation and able to dedicate two hours a month If yes we have apaid opportunity available as a PartTime Clerk to the GoverningBody of a local Primary School in Havant.

Therole will require about hours per year including attendingFull Governing Body meetings and handling administrative duties.The school hosts 9 governing body meetings annually usually onMondays at 4pm for about 2 hours each. Although they would like anonsite clerk they are willing to consider a virtual clerk for theright person.

TheRole:

Establish andagree upon a meeting agenda
Gather and shareall relevant paperwork
Take minutes and getdraft approval
Make necessary changes anddistribute
Follow up on action points andensure public access
Inform Hampshire GovernorServices of membership changes and yearly officerelections
Provide guidance on procedural andconstitutional matters
Research and resolvecomplex issues with advice from LEA and outsideagencies
Attend training and support meetingsfor updates on legislation and bestpractices
Handle all incoming governorcorrespondence
Maintain filing system forpaperwork with separate section for confidentialminutes

Experience:

Minimumof two GSCE (or equivalent) passes at level C or above includingEnglish Language
At least 3 years generalclerical/administration experience
At least oneyears experience of agenda setting minute taking and committeeadministration
Basic knowledge of governor oreducational issues
Awareness of the importanceof confidentiality
Ability to develop anunderstanding of roles and responsibilities ineducation
Proficient ITskills
Strong organisational communication andinterpersonal skills
Effective team player withthe ability to give clear advice
Proactive andindependent worker
Creative problemsolvingskills within a legal framework
Must have owntransport telephone and access to a PC/laptop athome
