Development Opportunity


As a Trust we are fully committed to ensuring that every child has access to excellent educational provision and that all our academies are Great Places2Learn.

Our strategic plan is focused on ensuring academy improvement so that every child attends a good school.

The trust is focused on maximising its resources, Effective collaboration will enable the implementation of its series of frameworks and the high quality CPD offer that supports this.

The Board of Trustees wish to appoint experienced and successful teachers as Specialist Practitioners. Specialist Practitioners are class teachers primarily deployed to academies as class teachers.

They are expected to be flexible and responsive to academy and trust needs and be deployed to meet need when needed.

As a Specialist Practitioner the post holder will be expected to model excellence in teaching and learning.

They are also highly skilled in improving outcomes for the most vulnerable including those with Special Educational Needs or identified as disadvantaged.

Each post holder will also be an active member of The Harmony Trust Development Team.

This means the post holder could be required to support colleagues across all academies within the Trust:
this could be by delivering CPD or coaching and mentoring colleagues. It could also be leading a specific implementation project.

Work for the Development Team will mainly be through Microsoft Teams, however the postholder may also be required to travel to Oldham/Tameside/Derby on occasions.


  • EAL including Newly Arrived Pupils
  • Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
  • Ensuring Excellence for All improving outcomes for those in Disadvantaged circumstances at KS2 or KS
  • Early Years Foundation Stage
  • Evidenced practice as a highly effective teacher over a period of time improving pupil outcomes
  • Experience of working effectively as a leader within a team
  • Experience of developing high quality learning strategies and monitoring learner progress to raise attainment
  • Experience of leading teaching and learning initiatives beyond own classroom
  • Experience of coaching and mentoring colleagues
  • Commitment to the role, the Trust and the Development Team
