    We are looking to appoint an excellent teacher of Science who would like to work with and contribute to the development of highly motivated students.

    To plan challenging teaching and learning objectives
    Monitor and evaluate student responses to learning activities through a range of assessment and monitoring strategies against pre-determined learning objectives
    Establish a clear framework for discipline in line with established policy, anticipate and manage behaviour constructively, promoting self control and independence
    Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all students within the classroom
    Select and prepare resources necessary to deliver learning activities, taking account of students' interests and language and cultural backgrounds
    Support for the School and its ethos
    Comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, equal opportunities, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting concerns to an appropriate person
    Contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the school

    Take personal responsibility to promote and safeguard the welfare of all children and young people in the school community.

    Evidence of continuing professional development (desirable)
    Sensitivity to the school ethos
    Ability to foster mutual respect in students and adults
    Recent and successful experience of teaching in at least two key stages
    Understanding of the use of a range of data to inform planning and underpin individual student progress
    Understanding of the characteristics of effective teaching, learning and assessment strategies
    Ability to monitor own performance
    Ability to evaluate and develop teaching and learning strategies
    Experience of, and commitment to, the education of the whole person promoting social and emotional well-being in addition to academic development
    Ability to use ICT in teaching and learning and for administration
    Ability to engage with parents and colleagues in the education of students

    In addition to the candidates' ability to perform the duties of the post, the interview will also explore issues relating to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children including – motivation to work with children and young people; ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people; We have fostered a strong culture of collaboration and the sharing of best practice, with a focus on continuous professional development and career planning.
