Under guidance of the Clinical Lead Dietitian, contribute to the work of the service in the following capacity: To assist in providing, maintaining and developing a clinical dietetic service.

To plan, justify and be responsible for the delivery of specialised dietary advice to service users and their families/ carers.

To plan, manage and prioritise own clinical workload and to ensure maximum efficiency in all areas. To plan, coordinate and deliver nutrition/ dietetic training for professional and support staff.


To work in liaison with dietetic, medical, nursing, allied health professional, clerical and other relevant staff and care co-ordinate as needed.

Participate in dietetic student training. To ensure safe practice at all times through the recognition and appreciation of clinical governance. To maintain accurate and appropriate clinical records and statistical information as required, in accordance with professional standards.

To maintain clear links with your professions structures and your professions lead within the trust. Support the professions development and modernisation and the adherence to your professions standards and codes of practice.

Willing to undertake training relevant to the post Learning Disabilities The Community Learning Disabilities Team (CLDT) is based in the West and South of Leeds.

You will be fully supported by the Clinical Lead Dietitian, Specialist Learning Disability Dietitians and will work closely alongside our Dietetic Associate Practitioners.


The Learning Disabilities Dietitians are embedded within the MDT and therefore work closely with the other professions including Speech & Language Therapists, Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Psychiatrists and Psychologists.

There are a wide range of dietetic needs seen in this service user group including weight management, diabetes, nutrition support and restricted eating.

We are currently working with other members of the MDT to incorporate nutrition and hydration into the early stages of several pathways including constipation/ bowel management, dementia and anxiety.

We have strong links with other specialist LD Dietitians within the Yorkshire region; you will develop your dietetic and communication skills in this post to support progression to a Specialist Dietitian role.


Healthy Living Service People with mental health problems are at higher risk of developing physical health problems such as obesity, diabetes, stroke and heart disease.

The Healthy Living Service are a team of Dietitians, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists and Healthy Living Advisors who offer support to help people living in Leeds improve their physical health.

As a Dietitian within the team, you will work in an inpatient setting (The Mount and The Becklin Centre) offering individual consultations to service users as well as support and advice to staff teams through the MDT.

You will be supported by the Clinical Lead Dietitian and Specialist Mental Health Dietitians.

All team members have access to full remote technology (phones and laptops) to support smart ways of working. LYPFT services are adaptive in safely and effectively meeting the needs of our service users and carers.
