We are looking to hire an Administrator on a permanent part-time basis at our 2 Week Wait booking service at Southend Hospital.

You will take responsibility for providing an effective and efficient booking service for 2ww for The Breast Service.

This includes the administration of the partial booking service for the surgical specialties including radiological procedures and appointments.

This is a job share post for Monday and Tuesday. On a Wednesday support will be given to the Secretarial staff. Holiday cover will be necessary and organised with the other 2ww Administrator as appropriate.

To ensure that all 2ww are booked in a timely manner.


To make sure that the monthly salary returns are all completed correctly if required and on time by ensuring Health Roster is correct and up to date.

Secretarial duties which include Typing via digital dictation.


Responsible for the administration of the partial booking service by opening and closing appointment slots on a daily basis, managing the review list and liaising with the appropriate service manager to ensure that clinic slots are appropriately utilised, together with organising additional capacity where necessary.

Liaising with consultants regarding patient discharges from the partial booking list.

Act as representative for OPD Nurse Manager in relation to reception/clerical matters if Supervisor not available.


To be responsible for the organisation of telephone clinics within the department, ensuring clinicians are provided with the appropriate paperwork if required.


To use Soliton to check patients have had their scans prior to booking follow up appointments and print reports from CED when necessary.
