2x Permanent, part time post (15.5 hours per week)

Across Swindon, Emerging Futures is responsible for the delivery of a day service programme including a range of behavioural change workshops, alongside other group and individual work with a focus on the 5 ways of wellbeing.

You will be responsible for supporting individuals towards recovery, increased resilience, and wellbeing with the goal of living successful lives free of addiction.


The day service will provide a positive, affirming environment where individuals can work together to generate hope and aspiration, develop their motivation, and create opportunities to make profound, positive, and enduring changes in their lives.

As a Recovery Motivator, you will carry a caseload of Recovery Support clients who have completed treatment via CGL.

Through the provision of groupwork and 1:1 interventions you will promote recovery and healthy lifestyles in line with the 5 ways of wellbeing.

You will be required to work flexibly across bases in Swindon in addition to working in the community.

What you will be doing_

  • Co-Facilitating the Foundations of Recovery and Unstructured programmes across Swindon, alongside the PSI Workers.
  • Delivering structured and ad hoc psychosocial interventions in both 1:1 and group settings.
  • Maintaining excellent case records and utilise case management and data collection tools.
  • Developing and maintaining excellent working links/partnerships with community agencies and resources, including supported housing providers & treatment agencies.
  • Supporting PSI Workers in reaching isolated communities to deliver services.
  • Encouraging Recovery Support clients to attend Recovery Coach Training when course runs.
  • Through interactions with service users, providing an example that recovery is possible and motivate others
  • Working closely with other CGL staff and partners to ensure people are adequately prepared and motivated to attend and succeed in all interventions offered.

Some of the skills, knowledge and experience you will have_

  • Established in your own recovery, if relevant.
  • Experience of effective, purposeful, and active partnership working.
  • An excellent understanding of boundaries, confidentiality and safeguarding risks.
  • Administration skills including using relevant IT systems such as Microsoft, CRiiS and InForm.
  • Experience of motivating and inspiring unpaid staff and Recovery Support clients, supporting the valuesbased support they require to flourish both professionally and in their personal recovery journey.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience of or knowledge of support planning and harm reduction techniques.
