Sunfield Specialist School and Children's Home is located in the beautiful Clent Hills, West Midland and is part of the Ruskin Mill Trust providing innovative and experiential education, and supports young people years) with complex learning needs, including autism and PDA.


Duties:


The post holder will be responsible for line managing and coordinating the work of the maintenance team to carry out the work required within the parameters set, standards required and using materials and methods approved by Ruskin Mill Land Trust at Sunfield Children's School and Homes.


The post holder will ensure that the Genius Loci of the site is always considered prior to any work being planned or carried out to ensure that the work is done compassionately to support the historical and natural environmentals of each individual site.


The Head of Maintenance and Aesthetics will work alongside Ruskin Mill Land Trust, Trust Architect, the Directors and Principals in providing a vital function in being the initial central point of contact for all maintenance (emergency and pre planned developments).


  • To plan, oversee and quality assure all maintenance work across the associated sites in line with the genius loci of each site;
  • To ensure through appropriate maintenance and checks of the sites, that the Trust and its sites provide a safe working environment for students and staff;
  • To lead the maintenance team, by coordinating work for all sites within area of responsibility;
  • To manage and oversee the maintenance budget, including costing and prioritisation.
