    Job Title: Clinical Nurse Specialist in Palliative Care

    An exciting opportunity is available for a passionate registered nurse with a keen interest in palliative care. We are searching for a full-time Band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Specialist Palliative Care Team at Swansea Bay University Health Board. The team operates in both hospital and community settings, requiring the role to rotate across these environments.

    Applicants must have a minimum of two years' experience at Band 5 or above in delivering palliative and end-of-life care. The successful candidate will receive support to enhance their clinical assessment and management skills for palliative patients, including developing essential interpersonal and communication abilities.

    Fluency in Welsh is advantageous but not mandatory; applications from both English and Welsh speakers are encouraged.

    Main Job Responsibilities:

    • Provide specialist palliative care within Swansea Bay University Health Board, focusing on hospital and community services.
    • Offer clinical assessment for complex symptoms and psychological issues.
    • Support and lead healthcare professionals in delivering holistic care to palliative patients.
    • Work on a rotational 7-day schedule, including weekends and bank holidays.

    Qualifications and/or Knowledge:

    Essential:

    • Registered Nurse & Current NMC Registration
    • Specialist postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience in palliative care.
    • Minimum 2 years' experience at Band 5 in palliative care.
    • Knowledge of service improvement.

    Desirable:

    • Teaching qualification (or equivalent experience).
    • Palliative Care Course/Module.

    Experience:

    Essential:

    • Minimum 2 years' experience at Band 5 in the relevant specialty.
    • Experience in a multi-professional environment.
    • Experience in mentoring pre-registration nursing/midwifery students.

    Desirable:

    • Experience in practice change initiatives.
    • Attributes:
