The Lead Stress Engineer provides analytical guidance in structural and occupant injury simulation, working closely with other functions such as Design, Certification and Production to ensure that seating products are lightweight, durable and safe throughout their working life.
Technically support junior stress engineers to ensure tasks are completed to requirements of time, cost and qualityAssist with identifying certification test failure risk, an ensure it is managed effectively and minimised with the use of appropriate analytical methods and judgement
Prepare, review and approve stress and structural documentation to submit for internal/external customers and regulatory approval
Support the Design team in ensuring that products meet regulatory, cost and weight targets
Supporting root cause analysis (e.g. Liaise with Design, Certification, Manufacturing and other company departments as required
Liaise with external suppliers, customers, airframers, regulatory bodies and other industrial organisations as required

In-depth working knowledge of aerospace industry standard stress analysis methods covering both hand calculations, linear/non-linear implicit FE analysis, Multi-body dynamic analysis and/or non-linear explicit FE analysis methods would be considered an advantage.
Ensure that innovative and creative ideas are supported, evaluated and investigated to conclusionMinimum - 2:1 Bachelors (Honours) degree or equivalent in Mechanical/Aerospace/Structural Engineering
