We are looking for a Facilities Service Supervisor to work in the Facilities Management (FM) department providing facility services, building management and team supervision in a wide variety of Corporate Council buildings such as Community Centres, Supported Living buildings and College etc.


About the role


You will be mobile working across the borough of Reading and will be working leading a non-static Facilities Management team.

This role would be ideally suited to someone with experience of managing buildings and supervision.

The person would be responsible for ensuring compliance checks were undertaken, have a good understanding of buildings and their systems and have an eye for detail.

The person will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with great customer care attributes and with excellent supervision skills.

This is an exciting and varied role in a fast-paced environment.


Your main duties will include:

  • To be responsible for supervising and leading a team undertaking compliance checks across the corporate estate including legionella, safety and fire checks
  • To carry out inspections and audits in our corporate properties
  • Liaise with specialist contractors on site to ensure access and ensure repairs are carried out safely.
  • To ensure systems are in place for Fire Evacuation and First aid to all users of the site both RBC staff and public.
  • To ensure sites rare in good condition reporting jobs and monitoring our repairs system and ensuring systems are in place such as key management, meeting of hirers and customers, attending and leading customer meetings and ensuring buildings are in a safe and pristine condition.

About you

  • Experience of working in corporate buildings and with the public
  • Excellent customer care
  • You will have a good understanding and knowledge of repairs and building systems.
  • An appreciation of the importance of Health & Safety and experience of carrying out statutory compliance audits and tasks in corporate buildings
  • Excellent experience and supervision skills and building management
  • Ability to be flexible and work from different sites and have a clean driving licence.
  • Able to work some evenings and weekends both within contract and as overtime.
  • Ability to undertake complex tasks work where needed and lead by example.
  • Commitment to further training as required.
