We are seeking team leaders who can lead and motivate teams to deliver our ambitions for the environment and our inclusive people priorities.

You will promote our ambitions around equality, diversity and inclusion ensuring that everyone who works here makes Yorkshire a life-enhancing place to work and live within.

We are looking for 2 team leaders on a temporary basis to lead the following teams:


Land and Water - You will co-lead a team of agriculture specialists who regulate the agriculture sector as well as lead on project work across L&W to ensure we align our resource effectively to deliver our priorities across L&W.

In this role, you will split your time between people leadership and project delivery.

Environmental Planning - You will lead a technical team who manage and use data to report on the state of the environment and work closely with area operational and national teams to plan for the future of our environment.

Both roles are for an initial term of 6 months with the possibility of extension.

  • You will be part of the Yorkshire Area Leadership Group helping to make our area an even better place to work and live.

The Land & Water team regulate water resources, water quality, the agricultural sector and responds to environmental incidents in diverse catchments across Yorkshire.

Our Environment Planning team that specialises in planning for water quality and water resources projects. We use data and evidence to plan and prioritise the delivery of environmental outcomes.

You will be able to balance and manage demands on your team from internal and external sources to help prioritise and manage workloads.

You will have strong leadership skills and believe that providing great leadership is fundamental to our ability to protect and improve the environment for people and wildlife.

You should have experience of leading people and this may have been achieved through non-team leader roles such as project management or a technical specialist/leader role.

You will take part in incident response and support your team to do the same.
