    Description

    Our client is looking for an electrical day engineer to start in a prestigious site and gain experience go and work there way up.

    The post holder will be required to work a rota and may be asked to work between the hours of 6am – 7pm Mon – Friday in accordance with the published work patterns to meet the requirements of the job.

    Maintain and update current asset registers.
    identify materials for ordering and collection using relevant tools and equipment, without supervision.
    Use a flexible approach to perform a wide range of the duties (including working outside your trade area)

    Undertake inspections for pre-installations and investigating services which may be required for new equipment and in the carrying out of minor installation improvement works.

    Carry out site-based surveys and report all defects to the appropriate manager e.g., To understand the skills of other trades, and with suitable training, be able to perform a wide range of tasks of those trades.

    On occasions, work with and oversee the work of service contractors.

    Liaise with the Asset Manager, regarding plant, equipment and building fabric failures and to request the supply of goods and /or services as necessary.

    Be prepared to work in hazardous areas, confined spaces and on contaminated equipment using appropriate personal protective equipment and taking all safety measures to prevent danger, avoid injury and prevent damage to equipment in accordance with KUSCO policy and safe working procedures i.e., the post holder will conduct risk assessments and complete action / treatment plans for all tasks.

    With training be prepared to utilize relevant software systems including the use of PDA's, CAFM system, the BMS, work permit system and the ordering system.

    Support the provision of induction and training of new starters, apprentices and maintenance staff as part of a personal development programme
    This role requires the use of equipment such as ladders and scaffolding.

    Served an apprenticeship in Electrical or obtained an equivalent NVQ/C&G level 3.
    ~ Provides the required knowledge to be able to maintain/test a commercial system for compliance to BS 5266/BS EN 50172
    ~ Sound knowledge of works within the field of building maintenance and a understanding of electrical systems.
    Able to use mobile electronic equipment (handhelds).
