Perform mainly TIG welding operations, but occasionally STICK according to project specifications.
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and welding symbols.
Prepare materials for welding by cleaning, cutting and shaping components as necessaryEnsure proper fit-up and alignment of parts prior to weldingInspect weld for accuracy, completeness and conformance to specificationsConduct visual and non-destructive testing to ensure the quality of welded jointsMaintain and troubleshoot equipment to ensure optimal performanceReport any equipment malfunctions and perform basic repairs.
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment Use Appropriate PPE and follow safety proceduresWork collaboratively with other team members and communicate effectively Essentials:Ideally we need a minimum of Level 3 NVQ in Welding.
Again, preferably we would like experience in either the nuclear, defence or oil & gas industry.
Experience in part pen/butt welds and welding to cast in plates would be idealES Steel hires for a variety of roles including Site Managers/Supervisors, Chargehands, Steel Erectors, Welders, and Fabricators.
