Join us as an Infrastructure Engineer

  • We'll look to you to develop, deliver, and help users with hosting solutions products
  • You'll make sure our products comply with security, availability, resilience, performance, and capacity requirements using modern oracle database practices
  • You'll collaborate with colleagues across the bank, allowing you to expand your network and gain exposure for you and your work

What you'll do

As an Infrastructure Engineer, you'll be contributing to and managing the selection, creation and maintenance of infrastructure technologies required to meet the needs of our customers, ensuring alignment to the Chief Technology Office strategic targets andarchitecture outcomes.


You'll also be:

  • Making sure the platform backlog contains acceptance criteria to ensure that operations support or warranty period is accountable once a system migration is complete
  • Contributing to a high number of complex and riskexposed technical infrastructures
  • Providing operational support to other infrastructure teams in the event of major incidents or complex technical issues
  • Building and leveraging relationships with colleagues across the bank to make sure decisions are commerciallyfocused and create longterm value for the organisation
  • Working closely with Quality Engineering and Technical Operations to test and deploy infrastructural enhancements

The skills you'll need
You'll understand how your area of expertise supports customers, from core development of technology to risk-based decisions.

You'll also need knowledge of infrastructure layers or stack and a broad knowledge across platforms, such as server, operating systems,virtualisation, database, middleware or network.

You'll know how to contribute to roadmaps and strategies, and have knowledge of how to work with third parties to manage their output and performance.

You'll need communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to your peers, along with collaborationand stakeholder management skills.

You'll also demonstrate:

  • Good problemsolving skills and experience of working in an Agile team with knowledge of Agile toolsets and methods
  • An understanding of how to relate everyday work to the strategic vision of the team, platform and domain using modern DevOps skills
  • Knowledge of Linux, Oracle 8i19c, Puppet, PostgreSQL, OEM, OUD, shell scripting, PLSQL and SQL, SQL development and schema design
  • An understanding of Oracle databases and knowledge of the DevOps mindset, collaboration, automation and tooling
  • Experience of Rman, datapump, data guard, patching and upgrades, performance tuning, project delivery, SME, SRE, Goldengate and RAC
