Financial Crime and Compliance (FC&C) department is responsible for ensuring that all financial crime and compliance risks within the Bank are identified, managed or mitigated.

It establishes and maintains the Bank's regulatory communications, compliance risk management, regulatory reporting and compliance advisory.

As an Assistant Vice President - Regulatory Policy, you will be responsible for reporting to the Head of Regulatory Liaison in meeting the Bank's legal and regulatory compliance risk obligations and commitments, through horizon scanning for both the wholesale and retail businesses.

This is a full time permanent position.


Key responsibilities

  • Proactively monitor the legal and regulatory landscape at national level for threats and/or opportunities, which are likely to impact the Bank and have implications to its strategic and operational plans
  • Act as the primary contact for regulatory policy developments across the Bank
  • Assist in advising key stakeholders on pending changes to regulation covering the UK perimeter
  • Perform the initial impact assessments of regulations that effect the Bank
  • Ensure and maintain tracking of progress of implementation and escalation of issues
  • Prepare clear and actionable management information to Compliance Committee, Executive Management Committee and quarterly CEO reports on regulatory policy developments
  • Responsible for delivering regulatory thought leadership and demonstrate persuasion to get buyin and delivery of strategic regulatory initiatives

Requirements:


  • Degree educated preferably in Law, Banking or Finance
  • Banking and/or Compliance related qualification
  • Banking experience with exposure to areas of wholesale and retail banking
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Experience in building relationships across a wide range of technical/nontechnical stakeholders within wholesale and retail business
  • Excellent organisation and project management skills
  • Experience in drafting internal policies and similar supporting documentation
  • Comprehensive knowledge of financial products, services and risk management process
  • Experience in regulatory and technical analysis of requirements
  • Experience of managing and administering change tracking
  • Solid leadership skills and team player who is willing to assist others when necessary
