- Ensure material scheduling strategy and processes are in place and work effectively
- Take ownership of material and production planning issues and carry out follow up actions
- Assess volume requirements against planning assumptions
- Manage inventory risk and ensure contingency plans are in place
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure integrity of Bill of Materials, inventory accuracy, manage and control inventory levels and movements
- Take responsibility for obsolete parts process and ensure business is left with minimum liability and minimal waste
- Oversee labelling processes to ensure correct parts/ finished assemblies reach correct customers at the correct time
- Investigate and implement enhancement initiatives
- Report on achievement of targets and identify any corrective action needed
- Maintain and develop business relationships with a customer's key personnel involved in, or directly relevant to, a logistics activity
- Ensure that customer orders / schedule information is being maintained correctly using Factory Master Software
- Liaise with the warehousing department to plan daily transport activities taking into account customer / sub-contract requirements
- Provide regular, timely, proactive feedback to customers by e-mail, phone and meetings on deliveries, production and quality related issues ensuring that all correspondence is dealt with in a timely, courteous manner

Established automotive manufacturing organisation seeks experienced Materials and Logistics Planning Manager to join their team. You would ensure strategic material planning processes are in place to enable operational and production continuity; take a co-ordinating lead, working closely with internal parties to ensure supply of materials is in place to satisfy production requirements; deliver efficient, effective and flexible solutions to meet production requirements; ensure customers receive on time in full deliveries and be responsible for purchasing of all consumables.
Successful candidate for the role of Materials and Logistics Planning Manager would have experience with MRP systems and planning processes in an automotive manufacturing environment; an understanding of ISO 14001 and IATF 16949 and their contribution to the business; knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and excellent communication skills. Offered as a permanent contract, the role of Materials and Logistics Planning Manager provides competitive salary, immediate start and employee focused environment.
Materials and Logistics Planning Manager Responsibilities:
Hours of Work: Mon to Thurs 7 am – 4 pm, Fri 7 am – 12 noon
