    • Ideally 1 to 3 years consultancy experience.

    Your attributes and skills:

    • A strong ambition and work ethic, with a proactive attitude towards developing into this role;
    • Flexible attitude to hybrid working and site work (on occasion this will involve working away from home for one night or more);
    • Practical onsite abilities and an interest in undertaking site visits and environmental monitoring in a range of environments (e.g. rivers, uplands, construction sites, windfarm developments, quarries);
    • General understanding of relevant technical aspects (e.g. hydrology and modelling of water environments, environmental data analysis and modelling, environmental impact assessment and mitigation, environmental restoration, sustainable drainage and flood management);
    • Sound awareness of Scottish environmental conditions and regulatory systems, such as Environmental Impact Assessment and Controlled Activities Regulations;
    • Industry experience in two or more of the following core areas: water monitoring; hydrology; hydrogeology; modelling; geomorphology; river restoration; wetland / peatland management; environmental engineering; drainage; flood risk management; water environment support to EIA;
    • Basic experience in the following would be advantageous but is not essential:
    • GIS / CAD;
    • Hydrological analysis packages e.g. ReFH, LowFlows;
    • Hydraulic modelling packages e.g. Flood Modeller or HEC-RAS.
    • Experience contributing to project management and delivery;
    • Excellent report writing and communication skills;
    • Good organisational skills;
    • Problem solving skills and attention to detail;
