Description
I am recruiting for a Buyer and Operations Assistant to join a busy purchasing team in Norwich.
This is a full time, permanent role and the role requires on site working.
Free car parking is provided.

This role would suit someone with some buying experience and is a great opportunity for someone who wants to further progress their career in Procurement while also taking on some operational duties.


  • Building relationships with key suppliers
  • Communicating between sales and purchasing colleagues
  • Regular meetings with key suppliers
  • Visiting key suppliers where appropriate
  • Advise sales colleagues on price issues
  • Proactively seek out new suppliers with a view to improving pricing
  • Monitor outstanding requirements from the key suppliers
  • Maintaining relationships with suppliers and consistently monitoring the market
  • Work with the sales team to ensure prices and delivery details are correct
  • Liaise with stock control and other departments where necessary
  • Assisting the buyer with product selection
  • Preparing budgets and forecasting purchasing trends
  • Being involved with price negotiation and maintaining relationships while doing so
  • Other tasks required to assist the Operations Manager

Requirements for the role:

  • Some experience working in purchasing and the desire to become a Buyer
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to multi task and work under pressure
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
You will be working for a friendly and warm small business who are well established in their field.
As they are expanding, the purchasing department are very busy and flexibility and teamwork is required for this role.
The hours are Monday-Friday 8:30-5:30with an hour for lunch.
