RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Produce high quality animations which create thrilling, storydriven moments
  • Work closely with the Rigging and Pipeline departments providing suggestions and feedback to improve character setup, rigs and tool functionality
  • Submitting shots for review and follow through with notes and feedback if required
  • Meet delivery deadlines under production constraints
  • Work closely with Supervisors and Pipeline department to develop tools and workflows associated with animation

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • A thorough knowledge of Maya
  • An excellent understanding of motion, weight, balance and form
  • An excellent understanding of rigs and typical rigging setups and transferring data between tools
  • A working knowledge of Modeling, Rigging and Mel/Python scripting
  • A thorough understanding of the visual effects pipeline
  • Superb problemsolving skills and ability to take the initiative and offer ideas and suggestions
  • Excellent listening and communication skills, and the ability to receive direction and criticism
  • Excellent presentation/communication skills in dailies/reviews by clearly and briefly outlining what has been accomplished and what next should be addressed in the shot
  • Demonstrates an excellent aesthetic eye, anticipating potential problems
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively

ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

  • A traditional animation and/or art background
  • Previous experience working with motion capture data
  • Good knowledge of cinematic language and camera terminology
  • Basic knowledge of Python and/or Mel scripting
