This is an excitingopportunity to join an innovative multi-disciplinary team, to help shape aphysical health monitoring service for people in Devon, who have a moderate tosevere eating disorder.
We are seeking an experienced,passionate and motivated individual to join the team at this exciting time. Youwill have a key role in leading, developing and providing a novel approach toresolving the challenges of providing physical health monitoring and advice forindividuals with an eating disorder across Devon (excluding Plymouth).
You will have aunique opportunity to have training and supervision from both psychiatric andphysical health consultants to help you and the team develop the skills neededto manage the physical monitoring of this patient population.
This a full timepost and is subject to Band 7 job matching as per Agenda for change.
You will be wellsupported within the teams and encouraged to develop your clinical andleadership skills within a stimulating learning environment.
Your base will bein Exeter but you will be covering physical health clinics across Exeter,Torbay and North Devon and potentially visiting GP surgeries and patientshomes.
Main duties of the job
You will be running physical healthclinics across the main DPT sites, Wonford House, Torbay, North Devon andStudent Health services.
There will be a health care assistant to assist youin the clinics and access to a GP with a specialist interest in eatingdisorders.
You will be reviewing the test results and planningthe treatment approach in relation to the individuals physical healthmonitoring
Liaison with acute medical wards for individuals onthe caseload that require a medical admission and those being discharged fromthe ward.
Liaison with Specialist Eating Disorder Units (SEDUs)to ensure physical health monitoring arrangements are in place for individualsupon discharge.
Communication with GPs across Devon about thephysical health arrangements for individuals on their caseload.
Providing training to other staff about the physicalhealth monitoring needs of individuals with an eating disorder
Taking an active role in the on-going evaluation anddevelopment of this new service/model.
