    Description

    At the cutting edge of fast fashion, our client is a global design and manufacturing business with its headquarters in the heart of London. They have been established for over 30 years and are an expanding business with a worldwide client base. We are supporting them with their exciting growth plans and are looking for a Design Manager to join the team and manage a team of 5

    • Successful candidate to join a fast-paced ladies department, joining a well-established business.
    • Broad range of product experience needed; commercial value retail experience would be a plus.
    • Ability to Create detailed specification sheets and request patterns.
    • Lead customer meetings, influencing decision making and building relationships with buyers.
    • Partner with the sales team and other departments.
    • Keep up to date with emerging fashion trends – fabric, colour, shape, and identify areas for development.
    • Develop and lead the strategy for the department.
    • Take a lead role in new business initiatives.
    • Manage the department, providing support and coaching and mentoring to all team members.
    • Analyse efficiencies within the team and implement new processes/ways of working where necessary.

    • Strong work ethic, willing to go the extra mile.
    • Ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent attention to detail.
    • Strong communication and influencing skills across all levels.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
    • Good eye for commercial product and trends.
    • Passionate, enthusiastic, shows initiative.
    • A strong interest and understanding of the industry, what's happening on the high street, catwalks and social media.
    • Commercial awareness – interpreting and translating trends to meet the customer profile.
    • Good knowledge of garment construction and fitting.
