Accounts Payable Team Leader

£33,000.00 per annum

37.5 hours per week

About the role


Reporting to the Head of Transactional Finance, the Team Leader will provide a customer focused approach to both our internal and external customers.

The post will manage the payment financial transactions team of two staff members:


  • Managing 3 Finance Assistants on Accounts Payable/Rent Transactions
  • Ensuring payment processes are adhered to including the set up of Purchase Orders, proper authorisations in place in line with our Financial Regulations.
  • Payments are processed accurately on Accounts Payable efficiently
  • To oversee cover on Rent Management System on Income.
  • Ensuring Council tax payment management.
  • Ensuring Managing cover on Rent Transactions
  • Maintaining a strong audit trail for all transactions.
  • Working with the Head of Transactional Finance to report and manage KPI's relevant to the performance of the team.

About You

  • At least 2 years experience with supervising an AP team
  • Experience of managing rent transactions on Housing Management System desirable
  • Experience of reporting on KPI's
  • AAT qualified or working towards completion of AAT
  • Desirable
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills both with the team and the wider business.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Good knowledge of Excel and other MS packages and a sound knowledge of Finance and reporting Systems.
  • Able to motivate teams and contribute as team player, demonstrating previous experience of Managing a team.
  • Organise own time and prioritise workloads, achieving timetables and deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to enable effective liaison with internal and external partners.
