Job Description Summary:

The Naval Technical Advisor will be responsible for providing leadership and Technical support for the Naval business segment to drive Safety, Quality and profitable results in the repair and service of power generation equipment.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Promote a safe workplace and provide support for all EHS programs and goals
  • Provide job tracking details, inspection data, technical results and final report documentation with established timeline
  • Responsible to provide technical guidance to operations team on technical aspects of current and future activities to ensure production "put to work" schedules across shifts are met and achieved
  • Develop and lead projects to drive better utilization of the workforce and minimize cost
  • Interface effectively with other GE teams including Power Services, engineering and commercial team to ensure customer CTQs are satisfied
  • Explain technical aspects of the projects to customers, commercial team and other internal groups
  • Explain technical aspects of the projects to customers, commercial team and other internal groups
  • Provide accurate and detailed job planning and written schedules
  • Provide procedures, work instructions and technical oversight of work in process
  • Support the hourly workforce to ensure highest level of quality on repair projects
  • Promote a highquality culture and support all business quality initiatives and goals
  • Proactively ensure execution of required repairs to drive optimum cycle and reduced cost to project
  • Drive Lean, 5s and cost reduction initiatives across all aspects
  • To act according to defined Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety instructions, including general and company own rules.
  • To undertake any other duty and responsibility as may be required by the Line

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • Experience in an engineering, or manufacturing role with experience in electrical equipment test and rotating component repair
  • Demonstrated experience in turbine modular Disassembly, Assembly, Repair and Testing
