Ongoing Support/Review Pathway - ILDS.


We are seeking an experienced social work practitioner to join our growing team within the Integrated Learning Disability Service (ILDS).

You will be key to providing quality social work to the people of Hackney.

You will join our dynamic, integrated multi-disciplinary community service which provides specialist health and social care services to adults with learning disabilities and complex needs in Hackney.


As a Senior Practitioner within ILDS, you will be key to providing support to practitioners at all levels of their career development, utilising your supervisory skills and deputising for the Team Manager in helping support your team to achieve the very best outcomes for our residents.


You will have a sound knowledge of the key principles of the Care Act (2014), the Mental Capacity Act and Safeguarding and other relevant legislation relating to the provision of services for adults with a learning disability.

Experience of Court of Protection processes is desirable. You will be willing to oversee and promote the performance of the staff you supervise.

You will need to be a qualified Social Worker and be registered with Social Work England.

You will also have a significant level of post qualification experience within statutory services including providing supervisory / management support to social work practitioners and experience of working with learning disabled people ideally in a multidisciplinary setting.


You will have a commitment to your own and your supervisee's social work education and be ready to help develop our Social Work offer.

A commitment to integrated working across health and social care is essential.


The Hackney Integrated Learning Disability Service (ILDS) is organised into multi-disciplinary care programmes (Preparing for Adulthood, Intensive Support, Ongoing Support & Reviews) providing a broad range of interventions.


You will join a team of social workers employed by London Borough of Hackney and health professionals employed by East London Foundation Trust.

The service supports people across London Borough of Hackney as well as those in the City in relation to their health needs.

It seeks to achieve the very best outcomes for our residents supporting them to achieve their full potential and fulfil their aspirations.
