Howells are currently recruiting for a leading Construction / Regeneration contractor who are looking to recruit an organised and driven Trainee Bid Writer in Swanley.
Trainee Bid Writer duties may include:
- Responsible for the timely planning, management and completion of bids and tender submissions to a wide variety of clients.
- Read, understand and extract the key bid requirements from the documentation received and communicate with all parties via presentations, planning and review meetings
- Identify and communicate evaluation criteria and its relevance to question specific scores
- Plan, write & coordinate submission responses ensuring client and job/project specific answers with the support of other Bid Writers, Head of Strategic Bids and Partnering and New Business Director
- Development of both internal and external relationships in association with the bid process
- Maintain bid momentum and ensure information from operational and service teams is received on time and is of sufficient quality and relevance
- Identify any past experience with the relevant Client or source information on new clients through Business Development Managers, internet use, etc.
- Maintaining accurate records of key milestone dates to ensure the deadlines are achieved and resources are correctly allocated
- Develop an understanding of market intelligence, legislative requirements and best practice relevant to the infrastructure and utilities markets
- Identify opportunities to enhance and improve the bid process
- Liaison with Estimators on Tenders for any price/quality synergy and timing of submission
- Review all bids prior to submission to check relevance, quality and accuracy
- Support Site Visit or Interview requirements
- Compiling, updating and sharing a library of submission information
- Support followups with Clients to secure accurate information
- Maintaining accurate records relating to win/loss rates, sourcing feedback and creating action plans for improvement and proactively update corporate systems and databases
- Educated to at least A Level Standard
- Computer literate in MS Office
- Strong English language/literature written communications
- Strong oral communications
- Ability to work under pressure
- Well organised with good time management skills
- High attention to detail
- Confident and enthusiastic
- Understand the power of relationships
- Be selfmotivated with the ability to work remotely as well as part of a team
