About the role:
As the Ostomy Clinical Resource Specialist based in Ohio, you will play a pivotal role in driving profitable business results through the execution of Convatec's current business strategies.
Your key responsibility will be to foster high-level customer relationships by providing essential clinical support to our dynamic sales and marketing teams.
You'll operate from a strategic hub near a major metropolitan area or key international airport in Ohio, with approximately 60% travel time (3 to 4 days per week), covering the entire state of Ohio, as well as portions of Michigan, Western PA, and Northern KY.
Your Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership in the field through coordination of clinical programs and product education inclusive of clinical study/paper reviews with the field sales team, as crossfunctional departments including marketing, me+ Support teams and Concierge teams, channel, and sales training. Interface and engage with Global Clinical Affairs team, as necessary.
- Regionally assigned with defined scope of account targets representing acute care, home health/long term care and retailers.
- Demonstrate an expert level of knowledge of the entire Ostomy product line (along with a working knowledge of other business unit product lines) and will continue to build on that knowledge in order to perform in a clinical leadership role for the sales and marketing teams.
- Ongoing knowledge of market activity and competitive products and programs is essential.
- Drive utilization of all Convatec products through clinical and product education and through serving in an advisory role to our customers (both internal and external) regarding Convatec formularies, protocol, policies, and procedures. (this includes assisting marketing with development and implementation of internal and external product promotional programs)
- Support product trials/evaluations, inservicing, and conversion activities for assigned account targets and as needed.
- Provide clinical input and leadership to field sales and marketing on a regular basis.
- Provide clinical assistance to marketing, sales training, channel, me+ support teams and Concierge teams.
- Deliver effective communications with key customers, both internal and external.
- Ability to inspire and motivate others through action is critical in this role.
- Project management skills to effectively drive projects from start to completion is required.
Principal Contacts
- Internal support sales team, marketing, clinical affairs, sales training through education, clinical consultation, and input.
- Educate and support customers at all levels and in key strategic accounts including clinicians, (nurses, administrators, purchasing, physicians), patients, caregivers, and product end users.

Qualifications
Required Education:
- BS Nursing degree or higher
- Certification in Wound and/or Ostomy highly preferred preferably both, WOCN, CWS, or WCC certification
Required Experience:
- 3 plus years of clinical experience and three years of sales and business (or equivalent) experience preferred, along with crossfunctional experiences in working with teams and/or leading and supporting wound/ostomy care teams and ostomy support groups.
- Previous sales experience is desired.
- Must be able to communicate product and product related clinical information and evidencebased opinions clearly and concisely.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential to this role.
- Ability to inspire and motivate others through action is critical in this role.
Required Competencies:
- Maintenance of RN license and related certification (WOCN, WCC, CWS) will demonstrate competency
- Displays a strong customer understanding and can anticipate true customer needs
- Competence in Microsoft programs including MS Office
- Excellent verbal communication, negotiation, motivational interviewing / coaching, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system i.e. ORION or MS Dynamics
- Public speaking experience preferred
- Published in peer review publications preferred
- Regionally or Nationally recognition preferred
- Additional working knowledge of Convatec processes, including but not limited to CEDAR, Consultant onboarding, Compliance policies appreciated
