    Intelligence Analyst - 12 Months Fixed Term Contract

    Salary - London ranging from £46,000-£68,900, National ranging from £41,800-£62,700

    The team

    This role within the Intelligence Development and Analysis Team will play an integral role in the FCA's understanding and analysis of serious harm, and its ability to take appropriate action.

    The Intelligence Development and Analysis Team will be focused on proactively and reactively identifying and analysing both closed source sensitive intelligence and publicly available open-source data.

    This material will be used to support ongoing FCA enforcement investigations and/or decisions about the use of other regulatory tools.

    What does the role involve?

  • Support team's engagement with the Enforcement Triage and Assessment Team to understand the intelligence implications for issues identified by the work of other areas within the FCA
  • Providing advice on intelligence opportunities and techniques to front line regulation staff and Enforcement case teams
  • Collecting and analysing intelligence from multiple sources, to produce tactical and evidential products (including profiles, reports, communications data analysis and assessments)
  • Help inform the action that should be taken on issues which have been identified by front line regulation
  • Shape the direction of our Enforcement case team investigations
  • Appropriate handling and dissemination of sensitive intelligence
  • Building and maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues in other business areas within the FCA and with external stakeholders
  • Attending and contributing to knowledge sharing events and identifying opportunities for knowledge sharing
  • Contribute to co-ordination, tasking and prioritisation processes to ensure that decisions are made on the basis of all available information

    The skills and experience you will have

    Minimum

  • A proven track record in tactical intelligence case support, preferably including communications data and intelligence analysis, ideally in a financial crime or regulatory context
  • Direct experience of National Intelligence Model (NIM) and intelligence products to support tactical and strategic intelligence requirements
  • Essential

  • Experience in intelligence investigation and intelligence collection techniques
  • Experience in analysing intelligence and evidence to reach conclusions and make judgements
  • Ability to present the outcome of that analysis clearly and effectively, orally and in writing
  • Proficiency in storing, sharing, handling and using intelligence (including sensitive intelligence) effectively and securely, including managing records systems, tools and confidentiality
  • NIAT trained or equivalent and FIO or FIA accredited
  • Strong IT capabilities including the use of visualisation and analytical tools EIA, Chorus, Clue, Microsoft products and PND use) to deliver outputs
  • Good open source internet (OSINT and SOCMINT) research skills in an intelligence environment
  • Working knowledge of UK law enforcement and intelligence techniques
  • Awareness of the FCA's regulatory and criminal framework in the financial crime arena
