We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

(Please note the salary is Pro Rata) for part time hours.

The shift pattern for this position is Monday to friday.


The post holder will have responsibility for a range of health improvement work within Inverclyde HSCP in relation to pre five oral health.


This will include:

  • Delivering aspects of the development Plan within the HSCP
  • Ensuring the implementation of defined health improvement work streams in line with the Boards Corporate themes, Scottish Executive priorities and local health needs.
  • Providing health improvement expertise and advice to develop colleagues / partners/ communities and clients
  • Having the ability to promote health and reduce health inequalities,
  • A delegated responsibility for a range of Health Improvement work areas within the HSCP in relation to Pre 5 Oral health through OHAT.
  • Establishing and sustaining links with key partners and stakeholders to effect change.

Qualifications:


  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline e.g. Certificate in Oral Health education
  • At least two year experience of working in health improvement, public health or a relevant health / health improvement arena
Experience

  • Experience of working in a relevant topic or skills based area e.g. oral health with young people, mental health, physical activity, nursing, community development, training, research
  • Project management
  • Partnership working, negotiations and problemsolving skills
  • Experience of working with groups and facilitating group development
Knowledge

  • Sound understanding of theory underpinning health improvement and health inequalities
  • Sound understanding of the health improvement policy agenda
  • Community engagement principles
