Grade - STPCD Unqualified Pay Scale


Salary:
From £20,598 up to £32,134 per annum pro rata (£16.28 up to £25.40 per hour)

Hours: 15 per week


Contract Type:
Variable Hours Fixed Term Contract End Date 31st August 2025

We have an exciting opportunity to come and join the team as an Instrumental Instructor, this role will involve working with children in Primary and Secondary School settings to provide instrumental tuition in small groups across North Yorkshire County.

Whole class instrumental work is also available within this role.

As this role is across the county the ability to travel is essential and the travel time between schools is payable as well as travel expenses.


In this role you will plan a series of lessons for pupils in a variety of settings and organise personal timetables, you will also support and prepare pupils for graded exams.

You will assess pupils progress and keep parent/ guardians and schools updated with regular feedback.

In this role you will also need to have:

  • Effective teaching strategies for instrumental music
  • Experiences with regards to the musical resources
  • Great written and verbal communications


At interview you will be required to perform a piece of your choice on your instrument and perform a sight-reading test of approx.

Grade 5 standard

Professional qualifications for this role are Grade 8 ABRSM or equivalent instrumental ability on at least one instrument

Enhanced Level DBS Disclosure is required for appointment to this post
