Job Description:

If you'd like to help protect our customers and prevent financial crime this could be the role for you. We're looking for a Financial Crime Administrator to join our successful Financial Crime Team.

This is a critical role, which requires a curious nature and meticulous attention to detail. You'll be searching through hundreds of records a day to separate genuine cases of financial crime from false readings.


Things move quickly in the Financial Crime team and sometimes you'll need to drop what you're doing and move seamlessly on to the next thing.

GCSEs in Maths and English at grade C (or equivalent) are a must, as is the ability to keep up with financial crime regulatory changes and trends.

The workloads can be big, so you'll need to be able to work quickly, accurately and under pressure, and you'll be supported by a team that's open, honest, genuine and fun.


Duties and responsibilities:

  • The effective and timely response to production, restraint, and customer information orders
  • Review and respond to requests for information from external bodies (e.g., Department for Work and Pensions, Law Enforcement agencies, FCA). Collate and log all data. Consider the Financial Crime risk to understand if the team need to conduct a full review based on the intelligence shared. Liaise with 3rd parties who require additional information.
  • Ensure all relevant internal procedures are followed and understanding of operational risks relevant to your area is shown
  • Compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and codes of practice.
  • Ensuring the delivery of effective and maintainable compliant solutions that support the business requirements
  • Manage the completion of monthly reports in relation to Mortgage arrears and missed payments. Collate data and investigate mortgage account. Obtain additional information from internal departments. Cross check information and highlight any inconsistencies. Consider the Financial Crime risk and make a Financial Crime Report if required. Document findings and share with leadership.
  • International Payments. Collate the monthly data and review the accounts. Understand the origin of the funds along with any financial crime risk, high risk countries, money laundering and any other findings. Review, monitor, track accounts. Provide a summary of findings along with recommendations to appropriate leadership.
  • Gifts and Entertainment monthly report. Independently analyse the monthly data, review the policy to ensure that there are no breaches. In instances where breaches occur, contact the colleague's leader. Consider the frequency of the gifts and any insider threat. Report findings and trends identified to Head of Financial Crime (monthly) and Exco (quarterly).
