An exciting opportunity is available for a full-time band 7 nurse hysteroscopist within the Gynaecology department at Russells Hall Hospital. This post is initially a 18 month fixed term contract. Flexibility and dedication is required, and full support will be given.

Main duties of the job The post holder will be responsible for independently assessing, investigating and diagnosing women referred to the ambulatory hysteroscopy clinics in accordance with national, regional and local protocols.

To carry out diagnostic and therapeutic outpatient hysteroscopy procedures as an autonomous practitioner within own competence, skill and qualifications

The Nurse Hysteroscopist will have key working relationships will all members of the nursing, medical, multidisciplinary and department management teams.

The post holder will also assist in managing outpatient hysteroscopy clinics to ensure patients are investigated in keeping with cancer waiting time targets. Person Specification Qualifications and Education Essential

• First Level Registered Nurse with NMC
• Nursing degree

Knowledge and Training Desirable

• Evidence of undertaking a recognised course of study in teaching and assessing, or commitment to complete
• Evidence of professional development

Experience Essential

• Experience of working in an acute hospital setting
• Substantial post registration experience
• Completion of preceptorship/support skills
• Intravenous drug administration skills

Desirable

• Computer literate
• Venepuncture/ cannulation skills

Communication & Relationship Skills Essential

• Demonstrates a caring attitude to patient care
• Demonstrates a responsible attitude to their work
• Demonstrates respect for patient dignity
• Demonstrates attention to detail
• Able to cope with distressing or emotional circumstances
