WHAT TO EXPECT


As Structural Integration Programme Leader you will be the central co-ordinator for development of structural systems for new architectures and governance of existing architectures as well as new nameplates.

The Structural Integration Team is primarily concerned with developing Structural Systems which meet the functional needs of our customers in the most efficient means possible for the business.

At this stage of the platform development on EMA you will be responsible for supporting the squads on the first car to ensure that build conditions adhere to the system strategy set out for the structure.

On subsequent top-hats (for both JLR and external partner vehicles) you will also be leading the development of the new system solutions where appropriate for the top-hat and integration across groups, squads and CoCs to ensure the most efficient solution for the vehicle is reached.


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities


As this role is predominantly based around system integration the primary skillset we are looking for is a collaborative leadership style.

You must be comfortable working with multi-discipline teams from different areas around the business and being able to unite them around a single business focused goal.

The ability to collate complex technical narratives and communicate them to senior stakeholders and colleagues from other areas of the business is also critical to the role.

In the past we have seen individuals with very different backgrounds flourish in this role so we are excited to hear from applicants with varying engineering skillsets.


  • Agreed structural attribute target set by SDJ for all top hats (Safety, NVH, D&R, Service etc.).
  • Delivery of structural system to key attribute targets (Safety, NVH, D&R, Service etc.).
  • Support delivery of structural system to key efficiency targets such as cost and weight.
  • Reporting out attribute status at key programme Showcase and Gateway events.
  • Ensure any major incompatibilities/blockers are escalated to appropriate level of seniority in a timely manner.

WHAT YOU NEED

  • Experienced CAD and CAE viewer.
  • Significant experience in the development of structural systems.
  • An individual with positive customer first behaviours.
  • An individual who shows technical curiosity and a strong desire to understand engineering problems from first principals.
  • Ability to effectively explain complex ideas and feasibility limitations to a variety of stakeholders both technical and nontechnical.
  • Results driven, demonstrates tenacity, drive and perseverance, with the ability to deliver in a complex, highly demanding environment.
  • Inherently team focussed. Enthusiastic about bringing together teams of diverse skillsets and backgrounds.
  • Resilient, energetic and enthusiastic, able to deliver results under pressure, whilst responding constructively to challenging new ideas and inputs.
