Position Summary:


The Product Innovation & Engineering:

Product Science Team (PI&E PS) develops the technical capabilities that enable Infineum to be the Technology Leader in the industry for transportation lubricant additives as well as supporting Infineum's transition to a world class Speciality Chemical Company.

The PI&E PS group delivers innovation and knowledge across Infineum business units creating value for our customers through the development of new test methods, the understanding of components interactions, the design of prototype formulations to anticipate future needs, and the development of solutions for the acceleration of the transportation industry decarbonisation.

The Product Science team is looking to recruit a Technologist to work on our portfolio of research projects.

The role includes participation in, and leadership of, technical projects and project teams that feed into business-critical activities across multiple segments of our base business (including Passenger Car, Heavy Duty, and Large Engine lubricant additives), as well as supporting Infineum's transition to a Speciality Chemical Company through driving innovative projects in new business areas (including Zero Carbon Fuels, Li-ion batteries).


What you will be doing:


  • Proactively contribute to the high safety standard of the group
  • Generate innovative solutions to meet the needs of the team's internal customers
  • Solve complex scientific problems, communicating findings at multiple interfaces and influencing stakeholders and customers toward bestforInfineum outcomes
  • Supervision and development of junior colleagues through both projects and appraisal leadership

  • Strong commitment to safety and quality values
  • Established technical competency with a science background, preferably in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Engineering or Materials Sciences. PhD or at least 2 years relevant work experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to analyse and interpret complex technical data and to derive sound technical judgements and recommendations
  • Ability to understand needs, manage expectations, and deliver on stakeholder commitments
  • Strong interpersonal and networking with demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams
  • Knowledge of lubricant industry, lubricant formulation or technology development activities would be advantageous
