Sales Ledger Clerk
The global leader in public transport infrastructure, this company has specialised in the mass transit and rail market since 1957.
Working Monday-Friday, day working hours. Hybrid working hours are available.
Salary; £23000 per annum
Main Duties and Responsibilties;
Credit Control:
Ensure the timely collection of balances due in order to minimise the company's risk of bad debts and proactively manage slow and late payers:
- develop customer relationships and establish effective ways of working with external and internal customers
- Issue statements to customers,
- process and generate reminder letters with relevant documentation (monthly statements / copy invoices)
- maintain accurate records of chasing outstanding payments
- maintain reporting on debt status
- manage non paid invoices, disputes and queries and escalate with commercial team and project leaders ensuring inquiries and issues are resolved
- Monitor credit given to customers
- Assist with implementing changes in the company's credit control system.
- Customer records including Credit check of new and existing clients
- Process and send invoices
- Allocate daily Cash Receipts and reconciliation of customer accounts
- Respond to both internal and external enquiries concerning sales ledger transactions.
- Assist with Monthend and weekly deliverables and duties
- Day to day running of the accounts receivable function
- Other Duties:
- Assist in the yearend accounts closure & annual audit process
- Carry out any additional duties as required assisting in maximising the potential and efficiency of the Accounts department.
Experience Required;
- Basic Accountancy qualifications, such as AAT Level 1 & 2 would be ideal.
- Payable and General Finance experience preferably in project centric organisation.
- Understanding of accounting processes and procedures.
- Basic knowledge in MS Office including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Accurate data input
- Organised, methodical and attention to detail.
- Confident and comfortable working in a busy environment.
- Ability to communicate professionally and confidently.
- Be selfmotivated, determined and be driven to develop within the role.
- Team ethic and player.
