Development Director - Sports & Stadiums EMEA

Elsyian Park Planning are partnering exclusively with search firm GKR to onboard their newest Development Director in London, servicing the UK, European and Middle Eastern portfolio of work.

EPP as they are also known, are a powerhouse in the United Statesand a leading development business in the design & construction of stadiums and sports facilities such as Dodgers Stadium.

With their new venture into the EMEA market, we're seeking a market leading Development Director to take the reigns on these key projects.

The role in question will see you take key control of flagship schemes in the UK as well as notable additional projects which arise in Europe & the Middle East.

These will range from Capex improvements of sports & leisure facilities on the international scaleas well as the potential to develop some of the best stadiums in the world.

As the new Development Director, you'll be in a leadership role to coordinate the team of consultants, architects & engineers through the design and delivery of these projects whichrange in scale and timeline.

A key addition to this role is the coordination and continual collaboration with members of the sports teams, both active staff and the ownership Board.

The role requires a healthy combination of left & right brain thinking, toboth design & construct the future of these facilities but also engage closely with each stakeholder, both evidently large and seemingly small scale.

The complexities of the development process are great and naturally an excellent understanding of local authoritybuilding policy will be required, but it is these softer skills which differentiate this role from your average Development Director post.

The right person will have held Development Director positions in the UK construction market and notably have a thorough understanding of London planning and development.

Demonstrable experience of designing and building complex and forward thinking facilitiesis absolutely key as well as a passion for sports infrastructure, however a deep understanding of this world isn't necessarily needed.

You must have experience working for a Tier 1 Developer or working directly with a client in a leadership capacity, demonstratingthe ability to both roll your sleeves up as well as think strategically with the ownership group.

As the London team is currently small & growing, evidence of a "can - do" attitude away from a corporate structure will be preferred.

It's also likely your experienceranges from small scale schemes to multi-million/billion pound developments and a preference will be given to those who can showcase this previous work.

You'll be given responsibility, autonomy and ownership from day one and kept busy with some of most flagship sports development projects which willoccur in the coming years.
