Job summary
To provide therapy skills to the Therapy teams within Lymington & New Forest Therapy services across a 7 day rota in 6 month rotation.
To assess and treat own caseload, with supervision from a senior and to maintain own records as an autonomous practitioner
To work as part of the therapy team and take part in staff meetings, and in-service training sessions.
To supervise and support more junior staff, Rehabilitation Assistants and students with support from Senior Therapists.
To contribute to the inter-disciplinary working by teaching, learning & practicing inter-disciplinary skills & techniques as defined by an agreed competency framework or training scheme.

Main duties of the job
To be responsible and professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work including the management of patients within your care.
Use investigative and analytical skills to provide clinically effective assessment of patients including those with multi-pathologies; use basic clinical reasoning skills to provide accurate diagnosis of their condition.
With support and guidance from more senior staff interpret and analyse clinical and non-clinical facts to form accurate diagnosis and prognosis in a wide range of conditions and to recommend best form of intervention.
To formulate an appropriate, individual management and/or treatment programme using clinical reasoning skills and based on sound knowledge of evidence based practice; setting objectives; timed goals and ensuring treatment progression using a variety of treatment techniques.
With support and guidance from senior staff evaluate patient progress, reassess and alter treatment programmes.
With guidance, ensure the keeping of up to date accurate problem orientated medical records and that they comply with legal, professional and Trust requirements as an autonomous practitioner.
To communicate effectively with other team members of the multi-disciplinary team about patients issues, in order to facilitate a team approach to patient care, specifically to actively participate in ward rounds, multi-disciplinary team meetings and case conferences.
