Local Space was created in 2006 as part of the solution to providing housing to London's homeless.Since then, we have continued to grow, in 2016 we embarked on a purchasing programme of over 700 homes, and we have now begun another growth period which will increase the number of homes we manage.
We mainly operate in East London.We are Local Space, a 2,800-home registered provider of social housing operating in East London & Essex. We are a G1 V2 rated RP (Registered Provider).
We are Investors in People accredited and are the only housing association to hold the sector's highest credit rating, AA-.
Originally formed by the London Borough of Newham as an innovative and independent vehicle for the acquisition and refurbishment of temporary accommodation.
We know that one of the best ways we can achieve greater quality of life for customers is to provide them with a home they can be proud of and deliver cutting-edge services that are a pleasure to use.
That's why we've tripled the size of our component replacement and planned works programmes and are making a major investment in the development of our repairs and online services over the next 4 years.
Position:
Communication Officer
Starting salary £38,745 and benefits package
This is a very exciting time to join us. As a result of our new growth we have created a new Communications team of two. You will report to the Communications Manager and also work with the Corporate Services Director.
Your contributions will build on Local Space's communication achievements and form a solid foundation to become best in class through showcasing us as a great place to work and as a provider of exceptional customer service.
Requirements:
Your role will cover:
- Creating high quality visual and written content for internal and external communications.
- Consolidating and growing relationships with Local Space stakeholders.
- Working with digital software and social media to held support Local Space's potential as a modern and robust organisation and be willing to learn new ways of achieving this.
- Supporting the Communications Manager to continue to grow our profile and services by developing an events programme.
You should have good copywriting skills and be proficient in using a wide range of software such as Mailchimp, Wordpress and desktop publishing packages.
You will need excellent organisational skills, as you will be the go-to person and first point of contact in ensuring communications are programmed and released on time.
