Regional Competency Officer

Location:
Manchester, covering North of England


The main purpose of this role is to use technical knowledge and experience to oversee the delivery of SJP's Training and Competence Scheme (T&C), undertaking detailed analysis of the Partner risk and T&C data, providing consultancy to the Supervision Lead in respect of further action or investigations required.


You will ensure Partner competency is assessed on a regular and frequent basis and ensure appropriate action is taken on risk exceptions.


What you'll be doing:


  • Undertaking details analysis of the monthly data, highlighting exceptions to the Supervision Management Team, including a review of detailed backup data, Key Performance Indicator (KPI) trends and previous actions/comments.
  • Using technical and detailed knowledge of SJP's T&C Scheme to identify and communicate key areas for action and ensuring key risks are managed appropriately.
  • Providing independent oversight to ensure relevant Partner supervision and development Is undertaken reviewing partner interaction records, heightened action plans, skills assessments and assessment of competency.
  • Keeping up to date with key corporate initiatives to ensure that processes remain fit for purpose, eg, KPI and Quality Gateway measures.

We are looking for someone ideally with experience within Financial Services in a T&C role and the following:

  • Intermediate level Word and Excel and competence at interpreting and analysing data.
  • Regulated Diploma in Financial Planning or desire to work towards would be an advantage, but not essential.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain strong relationships at all levels.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills regarding risk exceptions and the interactions required to satisfy agree action plans.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback and coaching to the Supervision Team as necessary

Special Requirements:

You will be required to travel around the North of England on a regular basis.
