Description
The key responsibilities of the Financial Accountant will include, but are not limited to the following duties and tasks;

  • Preparation of the periodic investor board pack including high level, insightful commentary for review.
  • Lead the annual audit and production of the statutory accounts, ensuring these are produced to latest accounting standards and recommended accounting practices.
  • Prepare and submit Group tax returns including corporation tax, VAT and other indirect tax returns.
  • Cash flow monitoring and forecasting for review by CFO.
  • Responsibility for accounting for asset disposals including liaising with solicitors and disposal teams.
  • Responsibility for balance sheet control account reviews and identification of risks and opportunities.
  • Budget for balance sheet and cash flow.
  • Periodic (and adhoc) intercompany reconciliations, interest calculations and amortisations.
  • Maintenance of Fixed Asset register and periodic depreciation.
  • Accounting for financial instruments

Profile

The successful Financial Accountant will have:

  • Part Qualified in ACA or ACCA and educated to degree level.
  • Demonstrable experience of the complexities involved in Auditing and reporting financial results of Group and subsidiary undertakings (including group consolidation) and the valuation of fixed assets would be beneficial.
  • Accuracy, attention to detail, strong organisational skills, commitment and an ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal, and an ability to confidently explain financial information to nonfinancial colleagues to support decision making.
  • Excellent IT skills including extensive use of MS Excel, ERP systems.
