    Job summary

If so we have an exciting opportunity for aBand 5 permanent post within our hospital-based Paediatric Dietetic team.

    StudentDietitians approaching the end of their training are welcome to apply, tailoredemployment options are available that will allow new graduates to commence inpost as a Band 4 Assistant Practitioner until HCPC registration is received.

    Youwill benefit from the support of a small, friendly team of 18 Dietitians,Dietetic Assistant Practitioners and administration staff.

    This post will providean excellent grounding in Paediatric Dietetics and an opportunity to gain aninsight into various specialties, including Home Enteral Feeding and NutritionSupport.

    Main duties of the job

    Youwill provide a dietetic service to infants, children and young people, both asinpatients and outpatients, within Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust andsurrounding community. You will also have the opportunity to gain experienceand training from specialist Dietitians and will receive shadowing experiencein other specialist areas within the Trust and wider multi-disciplinary team.

    Thepost holder will be provided with regular clinical supervision and extensiveCPD opportunities and excellent clerical support. The role will involve treatingand advising on a variety of short- and long-term health conditions, both inthe hospital and community settings.

    Thedepartment supports training to A, B and C placement dietetic students. Thepost holder will be expected to be involved in the clinical teaching andassessments of students on placement, and training will be provided.

    Youshould be a motivated and enthusiastic individual with good time managementskills and a commitment to evidence-based practice.

  • Qualifications

  • BSc/MSc or Post-graduate Diploma in Dietetics
  • Eligible for registration with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Desirable

  • Evidence of other post-registration education and training
  • Membership of British Dietetic Association
  • Appropriate membership to specialist dietetic interest group/s
  • Interest or experience in paediatric dietetics
