    This is a permanent position within the Site Services team at the Element Six Global Innovation Centre (GIC) in Harwell
    The team supports the activities at the GIC with facilities management, machine installations, maintenance, and repairs.

    It is a multi-skilled team covering a wide range of disciplines such as electrical installations, machine maintenance, control systems, vacuum technology, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

    With this role we are looking to reinforce the team with an experienced mechanical-oriented engineer who enjoys combining hands-on installation and repair work with contractor management, project work deliveries, and other activities that support the team leadership.

    Hands-on repairs, maintenance, and installation work
    Contractor management, including inductions, safety plans, and performance evaluation
    Project manage service, upgrades, and installations
    Produce risk assessments, operating procedures, and equipment documentation for the team's needs. Demonstrate professionalism, quality awareness, and an active engagement for high safety standards
    Tec or similar formal qualifications in an engineering-based discipline

    Experienced and proficient in upkeep and fault finding on mechanical and electro-mechanical systems, preferably with additional engineering skills in areas such as hydraulics, vacuum systems, pneumatics, and PLC controls.

    Experienced in safe contractor management
    Good general understanding of health, safety, and quality standards and ability to carry out risk assessments and write operating procedures to a high standard
    Good IT skills with proficiency in standard office software and relevant software for data acquisition, treatment, and processing.
