Participants on our Graduate Programme will develop their strategic thinking, problem solving, project management, leadership and relationship building skills whilst undertaking placements within their chosen profession.

Day to day, depending on your chosen profession you could be acquiring or disposing of land, providing investment for infrastructure or working collaboratively with our partner organisations.

From day one, you will have ownership and responsibility for your own projects / work.

You will be supported by your placement manager; have a buddy and you will be empowered to take ownership of your own learning and development including having access to a coach or mentor.

Towards the end of the programme, we will support you to obtain a role aligned to your career aspirations and organisational needs.

A bit about the role
:

This programme would suit someone who has a keen interest in regeneration and place-making in some of our most challenged towns and cities, and large scale greenfield sites in England.

The placement will be split across two of our Directorates; Markets, Partners and Places (MPP) and Development.

These two Directorates work collaboratively to bring the full range of skills and tools required to deliver against our mission of driving regeneration and housing delivery to create high-quality homes and thriving places.

This will support greater social justice, the levelling up of communities across England and the creation of places people are proud to call home.

This placement could lead to the individual considering a further professional qualification through either the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI), with the potential to lead to a career in town planning or surveying.

Town planners help communities, companies and politicians decide on the best way to use land and buildings, often working with surveyors who guide construction and development projects, and provide professional advice on matters such as the structural integrity of a property or its value.

We will offer an introduction to these professions by giving you a overview which will allow the individual to gain a wealth of hands-on experience.

You will be mentored and supported by our team of professionally qualified colleagues who are experts in their respective fields.

You will work in multi-disciplinary teams with other built environmental professionals while also engaging with developers, house builders, agents, consultants, and residents.

The placement will also help you strengthen your problem-solving and analytical skills; helping you to understand the complex barriers to unlocking housing growth and in turn the scope and focus of commissioning technical studies and evidence needed to help build robust delivery strategies and business cases for future interventions.

A bit about you:

We are looking for the next generation of housing professionals.

You will be an innovator who will bring fresh ideas, be commercially minded, a problem solver and a strong relationship builder.

You will strive for excellence, embrace change and be curious about future possibilities.

You will be motivated to make a difference and share and be passionate about our vision to effectively drive regeneration and housing delivery to create high-quality and home and thriving places.

You'll be pro-active about your own development.

To be shortlisted for this role you will require a degree of any discipline for a non-charted programme route, or an RICS or RTPI accredited degree if wishing to pursue chartership route.
