    Group Leader - Summer Camp - Romford, London

    Hours: 08.30 – 17:30

    Salary: £412.00 – £559.17 per week depending on age, experience, and qualifications (2024 wage level effective from 1st April)

    Reporting to: Camp Senior Team, Area Manager and Central Office. Barracudas prioritize the safety and well-being of children and expect all staff to uphold this commitment.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AS A GROUP LEADER

    • Set up and maintain an engaging base room for children, ensuring cleanliness and organization
    • Implement policies for a safe and enjoyable environment for children
    • Follow daily activity schedule to deliver promised sessions
    • Collaborate with other staff members to facilitate activities
    • Provide active supervision and meet children's needs throughout the day
    • Plan and conduct age-appropriate activities with enthusiasm
    • Encourage maximum participation from children
    • Develop rapport with children, incorporating their interests into activities
    • Ensure general welfare and safety of children
    • Safely use and store activity equipment

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Experience or qualifications in working with children
    • Minimum age of 18 at contract start date
    • Right to work in the UK
    • Positive, organized, and excellent communication skills
    • Ability to handle challenges in childcare settings
    • Enhanced DBS check required
    • Mandatory attendance at Assessment and Training Events
    • Assist with camp setup and closure

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Uphold Health and Safety regulations
    • Organize suitable activities based on qualifications
    • Ensure children adhere to safety guidelines
    • Follow camp procedures diligently
    • Act as a role model promoting healthy habits and child welfare
    • Report child protection concerns appropriately
    • Accommodate children with additional needs
    • Support various camp activities as needed
    • Perform duties as per organizational requirements
