Transport Team Apprentice

Pay:
£7.49 per hour, 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday

Key Responsibilities of our Business administration apprentice:

  • Sourcing and communicating with suppliers required for transport
  • Responding to customer enquiries, providing quotations and keeping them updated as to the progress of jobs, ensuring all collections and deliveries are handed in a timely manner
  • Optimizing loads / round trip vehicles, working closely with other departments
  • Closing out job files buy obtaining POD and any other require information (Purchase orders, Job references etc), and scanning documents onto the system
  • Reviewing routes and suppliers to ensure transport is planned cost effectively and to maximise profitability
  • Ensuring clear and accurate communication with the warehouse so they are aware of returns and outgoing loads and can plan work effectively
  • Monitoring and following up customer issues to ensure that the proper information is captured and that both customers and internal managements are aware
  • Running reports from the system
  • Ensuring completed jobs are completed on the system and checked prior to invoicing
  • Ensuring paperwork is filed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Liaison with Operations, Accounts and Warehouse
  • Warehouse support if required
  • Occasionally visiting suppliers and customers

Requirements to be our customer service Apprentice:

  • 'Can do' positive attitude & being a team player
  • GCSE C or Level 4/5 in Maths & English
  • Be able to communicate well, both written and verbal
  • Good IT skills including basic knowledge of Microsoft and Outlook
  • Attention to detail.
  • Organisation skills with the ability to prioritise to meet deadlines.
  • A strong desire to develop and learn
