    Description

    An Applications Engineer provides technical sales support for all Hexagon product applications spanning metrology, demonstration, functionality, and performance. Additionally, they are responsible for carrying out contract programming and product training tasks. All activities must be performed with a strong focus on the customer to meet or exceed our customers' expectations.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Provide product demonstrations of our hardware and software to potential customers.
    • Effectively communicate the benefits of Hexagon products for complex metrology applications.
    • Assist the regional sales team, providing product recommendations for customer applications.
    • Develop, prepare, and conduct training classes for customers in machine operations and programming (usually in groups of 5 to 12 people). Training may take place at our facilities or at the customer's site.
    • Create training programs and tools to meet customer needs.
    • Encourage participation and relationship with our customers through effective interaction.
    • Prepare detailed technical specifications for quotations.
    • Provide technical support to our customers both on-site and by phone.

    Qualifications

    • Associates Degree preferred or equivalent combination of technical courses and experience.
    • Must be self-motivated, highly detail-oriented and organized, capable of working independently.
    • Minimum of three years mechanical, electrical, computer, and software experience.
    • Must exhibit independence and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with minimal assistance.
    • Excellent customer service, verbal and written communication skills.
    • Must be able to travel extensively.
