This is a permanent accounts assistant position based in High Wycombe working in the office 5 days a week.

My client is one of the largest operators of independent schools in the UK.


Description

Main Responsibilities:

  • Processing monthly payroll
  • Bookkeeping as and when required including invoice preparation
  • Produce reports and calculations as requested
  • Supporting schools with the financial process
  • Submission of Teachers pension forms
  • Assist with end of year accounting procedures and preparation
  • Administration of company pension schemes
  • Completion of accounts to Trial Balance stage
  • Bank and nominal account reconciliation creditors, debtors
  • Maintenance of fixed asset registers
  • Filing of companies house annual returns
  • Plan, organise and manage your own workload to ensure effective running of your own jobs, and the smooth running of the team
  • Post invoices and review inputted data on Sage Line 50.
  • Completing debtors reports for schools in the whole group.
  • Other adhoc finance and nonfinance admin tasks
  • Regular meetings with office manager/Finance Director, as well as other Directors, to discuss progress and implementation of ideas.
  • Reporting directly to Office Manager/Finance Director, but accountable also to Managing Director

Profile

  • Working as part of a team in an accounts office
  • Cash handling experience
  • Ability to manipulate data in Excel
  • GCSE Mathematics (A*C)
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Excellent written, numerical and oral communication skills
  • Previous use of an accounts packages
  • Friendly, helpful manner

  • Organised and efficient
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work to deadlines
