    TheRole

    We are expanding our in vitrocell biology capabilities at our new state of the art laboratoriesin Milton Park and are seeking experienced motivated and dynamicindividuals to join the primary pharmacology team. This teamprovides critical data driving our drug discovery projects and isin charge of conceiving developing and executing cellular assaysfor a range of target classes often in areas of novelbiology.

    Successful applicants will be given thefreedom to design plan and execute a variety of experimentsensuring that the assays are fitforpurpose and that data isappropriately qualitycontrolled. In our newly built laboratories wehave access to a wide array of assay technologies (FRETluminescence FACs imaging) with automation capabilities and arecontinually striving to deploy the latest technologies and developever more efficient processes.

    Please note thisis an onsite role at our Milton Park site in Oxford with occasionalflexibility to work from home in the UK. We are a flexible workingorganisation and were willing to consider other options which wouldprovide similar contact time with theteam.

    You will have the opportunityto:

    Develop optimise and validateassays to help drive development of therapeutic small moleculeswith a focus on compound characterisation and the rapididentification of candidate molecules.

    You willbe expected to keep up with the latest scientific developmentsevaluate new technologies and will have the opportunity to presentboth internally and externally.

    This is primarilya laboratorybased positions with scope for continual learning anddevelopment and exposure to all scientific disciplines within thedrug discovery process from target validation to candidateselection.

    Requirements

    • BSc/MSc/ Ph.D in Biology Pharmacology or a relateddiscipline degree or significant relevant experience preferably inthe pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
    • Experience of biochemical/biophysical assay techniquesfor in vitro assay development optimisation andvalidation.
    • Practical knowledge of a widerange of assay technologies such as FRET fluorescence polarisationluminescence assays thermal shift.
    • Experienceof screening and data analysis including doseresponserelationships.
    • Experience of MOA studies toobtain mechanistic data.
    • Knowledge of qualitycontrol assay statistics to provide high quality data.
    • Flexible adaptable and able to work across multipleprojects.
    • Excellent communication skills bothwritten and verbal with ability to communicate technicalinformation to a nonspecialistaudience.
