Foston

£26,000 - £30,000 (DOE)

09:00 - 18:00 Monday to Friday (42.5 hours per week)

The company are a family run Transport and Logistics company, due to continued growth and expansion, they now have a requirement for a Transport Planner to join their growing Foston site.

Responsibilities:

Plan all relevant customer deliveries utilising the transport system.
Plan vehicles as close to maximum capacity and time parameters as possible therefore ensuring full efficiency of all vehicles.
Ensure vehicle earnings are greater than vehicle costs to achieve a healthy margin.
Ensure all loads meet safety standards.
Identifying operational issues and implement opportunities for change.
Communicate routes by liaising with other Depots / Sites / Customers.
Source and plan backloads to minimise vehicle empty running and maximise profitability of the fleet.
Fully understand agreed KPI's for Department.
To support, develop and embrace the development of the customer base and increased business opportunities.
Ability to cover loads with Sub-Contractors and negotiate rates.
Reviewing and understanding vehicle earnings and revenue reports.

Technical Knowledge / Qualifications:

Must be proficient using MS office packages
Confident with the ability to deal with logistics professionals at all levels.
Ideally, 23 years working in a similar role or environment is essential for the role
Previous experiencing using a transport management system for planning is essential for the role.
Knowledge / previous experience of UK compliance laws such is desirable
Own transport is essential due to location
