    Description
    Develop the risk policies, procedures and tools needed to manage defaults, margin, credit exposure, and liquidity in a company forming an important piece of market infrastructure for the future of the cryptocurrency and digital asset markets. The role is in a rapidly growing company and will involve early responsibility in a close-knit, high performing team serving a dynamic, fast changing industry

    ClearToken is a dynamic environment and being able to work closely with colleagues from other disciplines to land key commercial and regulatory goals will be vital. Strong interpersonal skills and being able to work on projects extending beyond just the risk discipline are vital.

    Role Objectives

    This is role will involve creating components of the Risk management architecture of a CCP covering. This is a senior role in a small team and the individual would initially be responsible for:
  • Designing a default management process which, after a member default, would need to include:
    o Calling and running a default process with hedge execution and portfolio sale

    o Design of Default waterfall and loss allocation procedures

    o Recovery and Resolution planning documentation
  • Initiating credit risk management processes, building out the team to perform this function, and designing wrong way and concentration risk management structures
  • Creating the associated default management and Credit Policies

    The Risk team at ClearToken has a wide remit and there may be additional projects covering activities such as:
  • Overseeing liquidity and investment risk management arising from Treasury activity, including collateral haircut setting. Maintenance of relevant liquidity and investment policies
  • Helping in the implementation of the trading rails required for default management and the systems and accounts needed for collateral and treasury management
  • Designing, back testing and maintaining the margin models (Initial Margin and Default Fund calculations) and ensure they reflect the default management and liquidity policies
  • Running wider risk management process covering full set of risks for operational resilience and other business risks. Ensuring maintenance or Risk Register and associated control processes.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    Candidates should have:
  • A technical/scientific/mathematical/quantitative background from either education or experience.
  • 5+ years experience in the finance industry / financial market infrastructure. Experience at least one of the following disciplines would prove very useful:
    o 1st Line risk and or 2nd line risk (including RCSA and ERMF)

    o Treasury or XVA

    o Cryptocurrency / digital asset experience would also be helpful but not vital.

    Additional skills which might prove useful are:
  • IT skills: Python, excel, vba, database or similar.
  • Margin model design, monitoring and back-testing
  • Regulatory engagement
