_The Senior Buyer will implement and deliver category management and strategic sourcing across key spend areas ensuring total cost-effective purchasing of packaging.

_


Key responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Procurement Director, the Senior Buyer will manage packaging spend, expanding with the projected business growth and take full responsibility for category strategy, stock holding and supplier performance whilst overseeing a Purchasing Assistant who manages ordering._

Experience and qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge gained in strategically sourcing across several packaging categories
  • Strong Negotiation Skills and a thorough understanding of the total cost of ownership
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Sound knowledge of internal costing and budget setting process
  • Demonstrate a knowledge of forecasting and use to reduce stock holding
  • Excellent Stakeholder management engagement
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Programs, and MRP/ERP systems
Strong technical experience in packaging to support new requirements, artwork sign off, packing selection
